With Cacki in her final semester of law school at Georgetown, the first priority was to find the money to get the materials and new equipment to make the piece. The largest piece I had made until then was the 5 foot tall, 3 ton Crouching Man. I wrote a letter soliciting support from family, friends and art patrons. I also got a grant from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities. I raised over $5,000.

My studio wasn't nearly big enought to work on a piece this size. I got the artists at 57 N Street, and some friends, to help me clean up the "courtyard/junkyard" behind our building to use as a work space. We spent a day hauling trash. Luckily, JJ came by with his bobcat to clean up the rest. This shot was taken after the initial clean up!
