Abilene Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition
"Abilene Piers" is on view for one year on N. First Street in downtown Abilene between Orange and Grape Streets.

Opening celebration September 7th.

6:30 to 10pm at the Center for Contemporary Art

220 Cypress Street

"Abilene Piers" is made possible by the generosity of Hunter Texas Stone in Abilene and the Cultural Affairs Council of the city of Abilene. Thanks to donations of 15 tons of limestone and hours of machine and human effort, we were able to create a powerful sculpture in two and a half days. Recent BFA grads Kim Hargrove (Kansas City Fine Arts Institute) and Ben Langford (North Texas University) were also indespensible assistants.

The Abilene Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition has a remarkable twenty-year history of presenting contemporary sculpture. Last year's anniversary show featured a "best of" show with Luis Jimenez, Daddy-O Wade, Jesus Moroles and James Surls.
